Stressed female Elizabethae - advice needed

50 tds is attainable, 10 tds would require a dedicated setup, which is obviously the way to go if you want to breed these fish. I'm gonna go as low as I can before plants start dissolving. Wish me luck

Agree, I would have structured it differently had I known better.

Stressed female Elizabethae - advice needed

It is the obvious question indeed. I use peat/alder/rooibos filtered RO and I'll add some calcium and magnesium up to 0.5gh IF the plants look like they need it (hasn't been necessary at all for the past months). TDS is sitting at around 70 after water change, rising to 90 by the end of the week...

@MacZ Thanks for your reply and the clarification about the couple relationship. There are so many different behaviours and interactions with these amazing fish and little information about it. Stressed female Elizabethae - advice needed

Hello all I have a pair of A. Elizabethae in a 120x50x50cm, 300l heavily planted aquarium. Other inhabitants are a pair of Dicrossus Filamentosus, Nannostomus Eques, Paracheirodon Simulans, snails and a couple of Amano shrimps. The Apistos are spawning fairly regularly every 3 weeks or so but...

    A. Elizabethae gender ID

Thanks for your reply. "She" just made a pile of sand half covering the entrance to a coconut cave and is yellower in general. Is that conclusive enough? Do sneaker males also claim a cave and make the entrance a tight fit?

Is it a female? The male kept chasing her(?) away but since a few days he just accepts her presence. He sometimes twists and curls towards her and still chases her from time to time. I only saw her once wearing yellow with the 2 dots instead of stripes but that is apparently also not a...
