    Water Changes

Hi. In order to have a large quantity of water available for water changes, people have mentioned using a large plastic trash barrel. I would like to keep the water warm--is there some type of heater that people commonly use? Also, do you need to have any other equipment for aging the water...

    Substitute for Carbon

Has anyone used "Renew" filtration media in place of carbon for apisto tanks? It is sold by That Fish Place and many others probably and is said to act just like carbon but without the side effects. Thanks.

    Odd Behaving Apistos

I have had a male and two female gold cacatuoides for six months and most times (only 2-3 times a day) when I approached the tank they would come to the surface looking for food. Now, when I approach they dart back and forth crazily and then hide--even when I put in food. Sometimes even the...

    Krib Problem

I have a pair that have spawned in the past but now they go through all the motions every 2-3 weeks but no fry ever appear. Water parameters are okay-though ph is 6.0. Any advice would be appreciated. Mhead

    More Females Needed?

I am just starting with Apistos and have 1 pair of cacatoides and 2 pairs of agassizii, each pair alone in its own tank. The male in each tank is constantly chasing and nipping at his mate. Should I add another female to each tank or just leave things as they are? Any advice would be appreciated.
