    I agree with Ted, I think it is a pair, I have two different types of Benitochromis and both types the female have a little color in the tail and the male does not. the color is at the top of the tail.

    Ted, I been looking at tons of pic's on the net and you are right the 'bandewouri has spots on the tail and in the dorsal fin. There is a very good pic on the Krib of the 'bandewouri. The bad thing now is that i have eggs from them. How do a lable these fish, should i keep posting pics, it...

    Please ID macmasteri, viejita or an other.

    I think it is a A. viejita over the A. macmasteri. The only thing i was thinking is that my macmasteri has extension on the tail vs the viejita has a round tail. But I dont think that matters.

    A. elizabethae is this right!

    I was told the the A. elizabethae is what they call "polymorphic". Does this means that there will be both blue/red and the white/gold males from fry in each spawn

    Hello All

    just wanted to say hello and I hope I can get some good Info on these apisto. I just moved to a new home and now have soft water to play with. My last house was a hard water place so the old world cichlids was the fish in my fishroom, now I am wanting to test the apistogrammas.

    I went to a fish club auction here in St.louis MO. and pick up a pair of Apisto. Hongsloi sp Czech. Is this the correct name!
