    Apisto ID and surprise babies!

I think macmasteri, I own two variations as their my favorite Apistogramma species. The gold is the picture I have here but the double red looks a lot more like this male...

    Which Laetacara species are these?

Thank you! I had a friend which made me panic. They seem to change colour a little depending on their mood which got me more confused haha but my nannacara does the same!

    Apistogramma macmasteri 'gold'

I've had this guy for around 2 years, I can't remember exactly but when I brought him he was just the simple gold colour but rather pale. He did come with a female but she did die and I never saw the variety again so he lives with a 'double red' macmasteri female and they have spawned before...

    Which Laetacara species are these?

I ordered these into work as L. dorsigera but i'm really not sure what they are. I've always wanted the species but I've only ever kept Apistogramma and nannacara before which are easier to sex and identify I find anyway. Not brought any yet because if their the L. thayeri i'd rather just go and...

    What Apistogramma are these?

I got these two as they have beautiful markings but I don't know what they are. The male is a lot more passive then my Apistogramma macmasteri but he does chase the female a tiny bit. This is the tiny female, Sorry about the blurry images.

what is one of the fish in the logo

Common names are largely deceiving in international communities and the scientific community the proper Latin names are used because they are universal. It also helps identify the background of the species and a clue to what it is like. Using common names can confuse people like crayfish or star...

    Sick female cacatuoides!!

Water changes like Regani said, ammonia can cause many problems with fish so its best to sort out that first, then see if the fish does improve. If not then it could be due to another factor.

    Rusty Spots.....

A lot of chemical treatments for algae I have used in the past don't really work. There is also reducing the time that the aquarium light is on for but because its a browny algae it doesn't need as much light as green coloured algae, so it won't make much difference.

    Greetings from Manchester

Welcome! You are very lucky to live in a soft water area, down south we have hard water and it is really annoying (concidering getting a RO system machine thingy) Bolivian Rams are lovely, actually all Ram's are. I used to have two German blue rams and a pair of Golden rams. Have an amazing...

    Apistogramma uaupesi "red face"

More cover as stated before, you could try more plants but obviously they can cost or if you want something more natural to their habitat go with dried oak or Indian Almond Leaves. You may also want to drop the PH, there's many method for that and it's best to research which suites you and your...

    Rusty Spots.....

A picture would be helpful but it's possible that it could be from a species of algae. Algae comes in many species and their colours vary, you can even get some really odd colours of the stuff. The best way to remove algae is physically scrape it off the leaves and continue doing that.

My new apisto is all yellow

Female betta's are much better off with cichlids I find as the males get very curious about them even my plakat of which now has to live alone. Female betta's are much more placid and not so curious about new fish from my experiance although every betta is different. I have cichlid's like that...

I agree with what the others have said but the first female seems to be a lot more colourful than other females I have seen. Lovely pair by the way :)
