I have a pair of borelli that have spawned. I was wondering if anyone could help identify which color morph they are. What are the distinguishing features between sub-species, especially the females?
Thanks for the info, but it was just the head that was black...both sides of the head & he was dancing & displaying to the female. That's why I believed it to be breeding colors. It lasted almost 2 weeks also. I wouldn't think a stroke could last that long?

Any idea what the cause of death is? Mine was black for almost 2 weeks & was healthy, active, & displaying for the female & then suddenly died. I'd really like know the cause, so it can be prevented.

Well never mind on the breeding colors. My male just up & died last night! No idea why...he was eating well & displaying to the female. Really bums me out, because they are hard to find! He was one of my favorite fish.
