Male caucatoides help

my male has been sitting on the bottom very lethargic for about a week now. Still full color and I wouldn't say his fins are clamped. One of the females is colored up and has been harassing him however they have never spawned. I've done about 3 50% water changes over the past week or so but nothing has changed. 55 gallon lightly planted community tank, all levels normal ph around 7. any ideas, don't want to add fish to a possibly infected aquarium

Can you see any abdominal bloating, eye swelling, rapid breathing, or any kind of sores on the head or body? Is he still eating OK?

He hasn't been eating regularly but no other signs of problems at all. Colored up, just lethargic
