Cichlid ID

Hey everyone, this little cichlid came in with a bunch of otocinclus by accident at my local PetSmart. I figure it is a dwarf cichlid of some kind but beyond that I'm lost. Any ideas? Can't give much info about it other than that it is really small, like as long as my thumb nail. Thanks in advance for any help.

I'd guess one of the Apisto regani group, based on that tall caudal spot extending the full width of the caudal peduncle.

It is a regani-complex species. If it came in with the commonly imported Oto species, my guess is that it's from Peru. If my suppositions are correct, I'd say it's a female of either A. paulmuelleri or A. cf. pualmuelleri (Peru-Regani). I tend toward Peru-Regani because the dark vertical bars are much wider than the light interstitial area, which is typical for this form.

Sounds on the money to me, thanks for all the help. This will be my first dwarf cichlid, lets see if it takes off! I'm used to the bigger guys honestly.
