Splash Tetra ID and aggression issue

If she won’t breed then I just won’t be able to breed them until I can find more. If I bought another species I would be stuck with only 3 of these which as you said earlier could cause elevated aggression. I just don’t understand why this would be more of an issue in a smaller group. Wouldn’t...

Splash Tetra ID and aggression issue

I sure do have a lot of fersatility I am not sure you understand. If I ever breed these ones I would keep enough so that I can maintain a decent group but after that I would stop. I am not sure I will ever be able to get a sure ID and the chances of me finding them even if I do is small...

Splash Tetra ID and aggression issue

If I could find more that would be great, but I am still not 100% sure on the species. Also, Copellas of any kind are very difficult to find here. I think the most reliable way to be sure I can get the same species is to breed what I already have.

Splash Tetra ID and aggression issue

I think it could be either C. meinkeni or Copella callolepis (sensu Zarske) nattereri (sensu Marinho). Right now I’m pretty confident its C. callolepis based on the tail fin spot thing which tomc’s website shoes. As for the agression issue, for the moment they seem to be getting along...

Splash Tetra ID and aggression issue

Yes, that is why I am asking for an ID so that I can look for more. They don’t look like the c. arnoldi I have seen online, and I think they might be a different species. I have plans to get them into a 37 gallon (30*12*24) but its going to be at least a couple months. I think I am going to...

Splash Tetra ID and aggression issue

So do you think it would be bad to keep one by itself?. It is always hiding behind the heater and am worried it isnt able to get enough food. Whenever it comes out for food the other one chases it back into the corner.

    Tank mates for a. panduro

Update — The A. panduro and the C. arnoldi have been out of the 10 gallon for about 1 week and are now in the 25 gallon cube. I decided to move them into this tank instead of the 20h since the kuhli loaches would have been a pain to catch. The panduro have become much less agressive and have...

Splash Tetra ID and aggression issue

I have a 25 gallon cube with 2x A. panduro, 3x Copella sp., and 7x Rasbora. The reason I only have 3 splash tetra is because that is all the store had. Recently, the splash tetra have become aggressive between themselves and against the rasbora. The dominant male is the only one being...

    Tank mates for a. panduro

18*18 is technically a slightly larger footprint than 24*12 (324 vs 288 sq. in.), but I get your point. I think that length might be more important than width and especially height.

    Tank mates for a. panduro

Not even sure if I even have space for this, but would a 25 gallon cube (18*18*18/45*45*45) be better than a 20H (24*12*16/60*30*40)?

    Tank mates for a. panduro

Sorry, I was wondering how you keep the terrestrial plants from just falling into the water. I have some pothos and lysimachia I would like to try. Do you just have them pinned on some wood? I have a canister filter but my water lettuce and even duckweed can't seem to survive. Maybe there is...

    Tank mates for a. panduro

The female is already very bright yellow 1. The Nannostomus had been in my other community tank for about 3 months with no issues. I added them in to the 10 gallon and a couple hours later they were all in the corner except for the 2 that had weren't doing well which were sitting on the bottom...

    Tank mates for a. panduro

This my first post on this forum so I hope this is on the right thread. For reference the panduro in question are my first Apistogramma but I have had other tropical community fish for a while. I have currently have a pair of panduro in a 10 gallon. They were purchased online about 4 months...
