I had 2 pairs of Apistogramma Agassizi 'Fire Red' delivered in mail on 4/1 and they one pair spawned almost immediately two days later on 4/3.
I finally saw the fry freeswimming around today and took the video. They are small but can be seen swimming above the leftmost driftwood in the video...
Yeah, I've gone around in circles with this local leave thing before. I live in a city and I have no idea where to find an oak tree. I can get some nice looking magnolia leaves, which I might mix in with the IAL because they are pretty leaves and last almost indefinitely, but I don't know where...
I had my apistos is a thickly planted 20 gallon and had bad luck. I salvaged an adult female and about 4 fry and stuck them in a community where they aren't doing very well; food never reaches lower level of tank. So I'm starting over without all the plants, which made it impossible to look...
I've got fry I noticed them during a water change. Rather than ask a lot of stupid question, could someone send me to the best reference online.
But I will a couple, I hear people say they get like 100 fry. I don't have anything near that number, although they are hard to see much less count...
I guess whatever was going on went wrong because she's pretty much back to her old color and not interested in that cave anymore. He's also being a bit of a bully. It seems to have occurred right after I did a WC, although that may be coincidental.
Well here I am again asking beginner questions.
I've had my pair of cacatuoides for just a little over three weeks and now she is bright yellow and has found a little space, I think she dug out herself under a piece of driftwood, so small she barely fits into it. It is under an overhang but...
I have read a number of places that blackworms are not good for apistos. I will look into getting a microworm culture and some of that Rapashy Meat Pie food. Curious how to deliver the gel food to the apistos? Can it be delivered via pipette. Need to be able to get it past the tetras and don't...
I wouldn't want to deprive them of food for any length of time because they are very juvenile, not the time for them to be underfed.
I will look into some of the foods mentioned, although I have enough of different kinds food to feed fish for two years. I do have a product called garlic guard...
Does anyone else have problem getting apistos to eat flake, granular, and freeze-dried food? I've tried all of these and they don't pay any attention to them at all, they just drift/fall past them with no reaction. I don't want all this food rotting on the bottom of the tank. The only thing that...
I have set-up their slightly larger habitat and switched to stand. I've set aside the idea of leave litter for now. What has amazed me that in 8 days (since the pictures previously in this thread) the male appears to have doubled in size, gained a lot of color, and his fins are much more...
