Abidjan is a very nice place. Much cleaner than Douala and more organized. We had a stop-over in Libreville on the way and we had a beautiful sight of the rainforest and rivers as we were landing there. Gabon is definitely a country that I would like to explore a bit.
Welcome back Ted!
I was back in Cameroon to give some training 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to go fishing again. Looking forward to seeing your pictures and reading of your adventures.

Hi Jordi
You should perhaps look at importing some fish from Czechoslovakia, Germany or Holland. They have a large variety and it will be much cheaper to import from there.
I have never seen any Pelvichachromis taeniatus species in South African pethops. The ones that I managed to obtain...
Hi Jordi
I am pretty sure that you have much wider variety of fish in the UK than we have in Cape Town. There are also a lot of paperwork and red tape surrounding the importing and exporting of fish, so I do not think it would be feasible.
The last picture shows the top of a waterfall.

I went to Kribi again 2 weekends ago. Unfortunately I forgot my camera at home so I had to borrow one from my colleague.
We did not catch fish, although we did go for a quick trip in a canoe.

I looked at your tank and must admit that it...
Both are from Lake Barombi. I am not an expert on the fish from the lake, so I'm not too sure about the first one, but the second one looks like Stomatepia mariae to me
Heh :)
I finally managed to get approval to take a car out to Kumba. We were told that the road to Kumba is very bad, and boy were they right.
From Douala you take the bridge over the Wouri, through Bonaberi. Then you drive through Tiko and turn off at Mutengene. From there the road up...
Hi Mike
The pictures above were taken during the dry season. I would have gone to Lake Barombi this weekend, but I'm having transport problems. Maybe I should go back there on Saturday and take some wet season pictures to compare?
Something else that was interesting to me was that the...
Hi Mike
Some parts of the river has faster flowing water, but we did not find any pelvicachromis there. The fish prefer the slower moving sections.
The river has a lot of vegetation along the river banks which provides a habitat for various killiefish.
I normally see the...
