Hey, just send those pics to Tom C and where you got them from. He will be the best person to say what you have. If he has some free time he will reply.
Did you have a look at the link I provided?
You will have to scroll down to see image.....don't worry about text
I'd link direct to image for you but that upset some last time I did
You could go to www.fishbase.org and search for viejita
NOTE!!! Photo by DATZ are correct....other image(JJPhoto) is Macmasteri
viejita has a red edge to top of dorsal and no reddy brown blaze to head....
Thanks Rod and everyone else. Mine have a red shoulder and tips to the top and bottom of the caudal. They don't have a red trim on the the edge of their dorsal. Still like my 'macs' tho' .
The question should be turned around. Why do you think that they are A. viejita? 90+% of all 'A. viejita' ever sold commercially turned out to be A. macmasteri. Your fish show all of the features characteristic of the Red-shoulder/Rotrücken form of A. macmasteri. I have explained the difference between the 2 species here many times. I suggest that you do a search of past posts on the differences.
